Kylie Cosmetics 'Heir' Metal Matte Review

Kylie Cosmetics 'Heir' Metal Matte review

I bought another product from Kylie Cosmetics... (a moment of silence for my purse). The product itself was very reasonably priced at $17, it was just the shipping that cost around $20, not bad for American companies, but still expensive.

It came like this:

And it came with a not from Kylie! (printed of course...)

The product itself did not let me down though, the packaging was sleek and felt high quality...

This is how it looked swatched on my hand:

This is how it looked on my lips:

I love this lipstick- so worth the money! It is a nice peachy shade with shimmer, which is perfect for summer. It has enough shimmer, and isn't too metallic, which may be a turn off for some people, but I don't like to look too 'out there' with my lip shades, and so its nice its a very wearable shade.
The formula seemed to have changed since I purchased Candy K, however, the wand on it has become more fluffy, and the formula is thicker and seems ore whipped.
Also this is not transfer-proof, and it doesn't really last as long as the normal mattes.
I also tend to use a lip liner underneath it, so it doesn't bleed.

Altogether- I really liked this, and will be wearing it all summer!

Too Faced Sweet peach palette review

TOO FACED SWEET PEACH PALETTE REVIEW:

I bought this palette back on the 4th of May at Debenhams, and I had seen all the american beauty bloggers rave about this, and since I don't own anything from too faced, I used this as an opportunity to test their shadows, and I have to say I am impressed. The pigmentation of most of the shadows is good, and very buttery, especially the shimmery, satin shades.

This is the box it came in:

The shade names (sorry its upside down1)

It comes with a 'How-to' guide, (again sorry its upside down!)

The box is just quite simple and informative, and I like the fact that it has the shade names on the back which is very helpful.

The outside packaging looked like this:

The front

The back

I love the packaging! Some people may not like it as it is a bit gimmicky, and doesn't exactly look high end, but I absolutely adore it. The front has little peach shapes poking out, and it looks so cool, and the back just has ingredients on it. The tin can be a bit flimsy, and I worry that the lid will fall off when I travel, but that is the only bad thing to this packaging in my opinion.

These are the shade and swatches:

The full palette

The first 9 shades

The last 9 shades

all of them in shade

all of them in sunlight

L-R (white peach, nectar, peaches and cream)

L-R (luscious, cobbler, georgia)

L-R ( just peachy, candied peach, caramelized)

L-R (bless her heart, bellini, puree)

L-R (tempting, peach pit, summer yum)

L-R (charmed I'm sure, delectable, talk derby to me)
The quality of these eyeshadows, as mentioned, are incredible. Although, shades like 'delectable' and 'Talk derby to me' are not very pigmented and hard to work with. Thankfully I don't tend to use shades like that as I like toned down more natural looks, and I only really use black shadows as liner. Speaking of black shadows, 'tempting' is a good one for liner as it is fairly opaque, but it stays. Shades like 'luscious' are creamy and pigmented, and I apply them with my finger and they go onto my lid very smoothly and pigmented. My favourite matte shade is 'charmed, I'm sure' for my outer v, as it is not as red as the others, and can be used very easily. I also use the shade white peach to set my eye primer, and also to higlight the inner corners and the browbone. I do use some of the peachy tones but only one at a time maybe on the lid to give some colour, I mainly use 'bellini'.

Altogether, I really like this palette, as there is variety within it, there are peach and pink colours, browns, whites and yellows, and the darker purples and a black. There are also matte and satin finishes on the different shadows. I do reach for this palette a lot.

I hope you enjoyed this review,

My lipstick collection

MY LIPSTICK COLLECTION!

Hey, I have here my lippie collection; lipsticks, liquid lipsicks, balms, lip liners and lip glosses!

Firstly here are my lipsticks:

Lipsticks that aren't Mac

My Mac lipsticks

L-R (Kiko temptress in 01, Topshop 'Innocent', Lipstick Queen 'Frog Prince', Rimmel Kate lasting finish in '38', Mac 'Syrup', Mac 'Viva Glam 2', Mac 'Snob', Mac 'Velvet Teddy', Mac 'Creme Cup'.)

They are all nudes and pinks, as I just don't feel comfortable in very bright or red shades. I really like all of them, and I wear each one in different seasons.

These are my liquid lipsticks:

L-R (Jouer 'Dulce de Leche', Kylie cosmetics "Candy K', Jeffree Star 'I'm Nude', NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Istanbul, Rimmel Provocalips in 'Skinny Dipping'- this is a gloss and a liquid lipstick but I just put it in this category.)

I personally tend to wear liquid lipsticks more in winter, but I do wear my Jouer one and NYX one quite a lot all year round, as well as using the Jeffree Star to lighten my lip shades, or putting in the centre of the lip to make your lips look fuller.

These are my lip glosses:

Top-Bottom (NYX Butter Gloss in 'Fortune Cookie', Chanel lip gloss in '181', Tanya Burr cosmetics lip gloss in 'Just Peachy, Bobbi Brown High Shimmer gloss in 'Bare Sparkle-15'
All of these glosses (except the Bobbi Brown one) are not sticky, as I tend to prefer the more silky feeling glosses and that is what the other 3 are- my favourite is probably the Chanel one!

These are my lip liners:

Top-Bottom (NYX lip liner in 'Nude Suede Shoes', Kylie Cosmetics 'Candy k', Mac 'Soar', Kiko Temptress in '01'
I like lip liners that are more creamy, and glide on very easily without tugging at my lips. I also find that the NYX slide on lip liner formulas are very similar to the Kylie Cosmetics ones, and these 2 are my favourite formulas.

Here are my balm sticks:

L-R (Clinique chubby stick in 'Woppin' Watermelon', Soap and Glory in 'Nudist')

I really like balm sticks, as you can put them over a liquid lipstick for a glossy finish, or you can put it on for a flush of colour that will keep lips hydrated and plump. I also have another chubby stick in 'Mighty Mimosa' and this is another subtle hotish pink. Gorgeous formula though.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and my lipstick collection will just keep growing! If you want any more collection posts, put what you want below... Thank you so much, and..

Mini NYX Haul!

MINI NYX HAUL! (and an item of Rimmel)

Hola! Sorry I have been so inactive recently, but I have had exams... ugh, but now they are over, so I thought what better way to cheer myself up than by a bit of retail therapy, and as well as buying some clothes I also bought some stuff from a new NYX counter in Boots that has just opened!
(ps it is in Trinity Leeds)

Firstly, I bought a Soft Matte lip Cream, because I have heard SO many good things about them. I got the shade Istanbul:

This shade is a really nice brightish pink colour. The formula is also really nice and reminds me of the Jouer lip cremes, as it seems whipped, and quite thick but is easy to spread round the lips and gives even coverage.

I also got a Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie:

This lipgloss had such a nice formula, and felt really silky and not sticky on my lips, just like my Chanel gloss, also the colour was so nice, and it really complimented the Soft Matte Lip Cream.

Then I got a Lip Liner, in the shade Nude Suede Shoes.

This is a very creamy lip liner, and it is just the right colour for my lips, so I could pair it with anyone of my neutral or even pink lipsticks. It glides right on, and does have good staying power, you can smudge it, but does set fairly quickly. It's formula reminds me of the Urban Decay lip pencils.

These 3 pictures are all 3 on together- however I did put a little bit of Jeffree Star's 'I'm Nude' in the centre of my lips, and then put the gloss all over.

Also... I grabbed this from Rimmel:

Its the clear brow gel- 'Brow this way'. It holds my brows and I put it on before applying the Anastasia Brow Wiz, as my brows are in a fixed shape to then fill in with the Brow Wiz.

I hope you enjoyed this haul, and I am going to the USA soon, so there will be more hauls coming!

How I clean my brushes

HOW I CLEAN MY MAKEUP BRUSHES

To clean my brushes I normally use some makeup cleanser (I use the Mac one, but any one will work) or shampoo and a brush egg.

The Brush egg cleaning side

The brush egg back

The brush egg is really good to clean brushes and really effective as it has the ridges to swirl your brushes on to get the makeup off them.

Steps I take to clean my brushes:

1.  Pour a drop of brush cleanser on brush.
2. Swirl brush around on brush egg.
3. Wet with water and swirl brush around on brush egg.
4. Repeat

You can do this with any brush, even a flat contour!

To buy the brush egg: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tonsee®-Silicone-Cleaning-Scrubber-Cosmetic/dp/B015OAGAZY/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1465505275&sr=8-1&keywords=brush+egg

So this is how I clean my brushes, hope you enjoyed reading about this!

Naked Palette Dupe?

NAKED PALETTE DUPE?

Before I got the Naked Palette I got what was called a dupe for it as the Naked Palette is about £40 and so I of course wanted a cheaper option, so I bought the W7 in the buff- lightly toasted palette.

As you can see the packaging on the Naked palette is nicer. It feels more high-end as it is relatively sturdy, feels quite heavy and has a suede like texture. The W7 one is metal, and feels very light. The Naked palette contains a dual ended brush, and the W7 palette did contain a dual tip sponge applicator, but I threw it away and that is why you can't see it in the picture above. Also the Naked palette contains a mirror which is very handy, whereas the W7 one doesn't.

The Naked palette full view
The swatches L-R: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal

The first five shades

The last 6 (sorry I forgot to get the last shade in shot!)

This is a very pigmented and blendable palette and so there is a reason this is a very hyped up palette. And the shades are very soft and buttery, and they go on evenly and has a wide range of colours.

Swatches

The first 5

The last 7

This palette is actually quite good quality, except the last 2 aren't that pigmented and quite chalky, but they are good dupes! Both the golden shades (half-baked and the golden shade in the W7 palette- they don't have names) are very pigmented and nice, and the first 5 shimmers are dupes, the mattes are a bit chalky and not that pigmented.

For about £3 I think that the cheaper palette is well worth the money! It is apparently cruelty free, and not tested on animals as well. The Naked palette is also worth the hype, but if you just don't want to fork out £40 on an eyeshadow palette, the dupe is just as good.
